Things you are not likely to hear said in a movie in the 21st century. . .

Said by a fisher woman as John Wayne's character is famously dragging his wife to go confront her brother:

"Sir!... Sir!... Here's a good stick, to beat the lovely lady."

I was watching Tough Guy (1936) with Jackie Cooper (early yesterday morning when I should have been getting ready for work) and noticed a wall sized map (mural, really) on the wall behind the "sheriff's" desk and saw Fullerton was one of the "towns" listed. No freeways marked of course, but the various towns such as Fullerton, Whittier, Chino, etc. were linked together by highways. No real importance to my comment, you just got me thinking about old movies and this was my most recent old movie experience.

That's cool. I just finished reading Lost Hollywood which Monica gave me at Christmas. It is a quick read and you might find it interesting with the all the old movie watching you are doing right now.
