As a woman who named her blog after one of Douglas Adams' books, I just don't know what to think about this announcement. Eoin Colfer is writing the sixth book to the Hitchhiker's Guide series.
Oh dear.
Can ANYONE do justice to the Hitchhiker series?
I've heard of these Artemis Fowl books, but is Colfer the right man to try?
I don't know...
I DON'T KNOW!!!!
The only thing I do know is that 42 is still the answer to the question of Life, the Universe and Everything.

Horrible, horrible confession that may very well end our friendship: I've never read the Hitchhiker's Guide. Well I did read Chapter 1 of it once.
Can we still be friends?
Colfer is v. good. I'm reading Artemis Fowl right now (well not RIGHT now because I'm typing), but it's very smart and very funny.
i know .. i heard yesterday and really don't know how i feel about this, don't know at all ...
I just don't think people should write other people's books, if that makes sense (haven't had coffee yet). It may be just as good but it will be different. Rarely is this a good idea.
I say no, no to Colfer!
What I've mainly heard about this is gender confusion over Eoin Colfer. I wonder why the name Eoin looks feminine to our North American eyes?
I'm not a huge fan of Douglas Adams's writing (I'm sorry!), but I'm curious to see how this will play out.
Eoin does like kind of feminine to me. Possibly because it looks quite a bit like Erin, but that might just be me.
Anyway, BAD IDEA. BAD. BAD. BAD. I love Douglas Adams and there is no way this ambiguous gender person will do it justice. I have two wrods for Eoin: Alexandra Ripley.
