Mammogram today. . . Ouch!
Left my carpool kid at school today. . . D'oh!

Lessons from Teaching Reading to Elementary School Students - A quiz for you all:
What's a diphthong?
What's a schwa?
What is the Control R?
What is a digraph and what makes it regular or variant?
I guess that's it for now.
P.S. In response to request to see me in a blue M&M suit. . . It's coming, pinky swear!

A dipthong is what I call my youngest brother when he staggers into my house drunk at 11p.m. on a Tuesday.
Schwa is what I say when someone tells me something improbable.
Ouch! Poor you about the mannogram!
Wait, I know the first two!
dipthong is a combined vowel sound, and schwa (well, I don't actually know this one) is that upside down "e," but what it's for, I forget.
But that's not the same as forgetting a kid at school, which I would surely do if my brain was trying to make room for all this kind of stuff, too.
i asked ask.com "what is the nature of life, the universe and everything" It didn't say 4. out of 1,692,000 hits, yours was the most interesting and/or refreshing of those read(which was 4)
I love to hear from you, even if it is a list.
I get on a plane to move to your area today!
Now see, I refuse to answer these since the past 13 years of homeschooling give me the distinct advantage of reviewing the meanings of all of them every two years (I'm thinking I am not sure what the control R is though, unless it is the way that r modifies vowels). :)
I'm sorry I haven't responded to your email yet. I seem to be in a completely silent phase, but I am largely okay.
-t (waiting with bated breath for the m&m - I always did like the blue ones)
Oh, I failed this quiz completely. I am totally unqualified to teach reading to elementary school kids!!!
Can't wait for the blue m&m pic :)
Isn't schwa a place in Canada?
How old was the carpool kid? Was it your own? Is he/she scarred for life?
I could answer those questions but I won't because everyone else did:) My favorite to teach is the r-controlled vowels, especially the "ar" words because I tell the kids that "ar" sounds like what a pirate says..."arrrrrrr maties!" They love it! Haven't visited in a while....hope things are going well!!
I am clearly not qualified to teach reading in an elementary school :)
Hmmm...I failed the test, too!
Good to "see" you--hope you are well.
